Working with us

WCRF International and WCRF UK are based in the same office in London, UK. WCRF UK is a registered charity and WCRF International is the umbrella association, which unites all member organisations in the different countries.

Our office is in Bedford Square in central London, close to Tottenham Court Road, the British Museum and the busy shopping area of Oxford Street.

We have a diverse office with staff who all have an interest in and commitment to healthy living and health promotion. Our London office is made up of the following departments:

WCRF International departments

Science and Research

The WCRF International Science and Research Department coordinates the research grant programme for all the WCRF entities. It managed the Second Expert Report (launched in November 2007), the Policy Report (launched in February 2009) and is currently managing the Continuous Update Project.

Policy and Public Affairs

The WCRF International Policy and Public Affairs Department works to influence policy changes that make it easier for people to make the kind of healthy choices that can help prevent cancer. Working on behalf of all WCRF global network charities, we influence governments and key decision-takers to do all they can to achieve a health-promoting environment for all.

Web

The WCRF International Web Department develops, maintains and co-ordinates our WCRF International, UK, NL and HK websites as well as our diet and cancer report website.

Operations

The WCRF International Operations Department is responsible for strategy, human resources, building management and security, IT, facilities and mailroom as well as budgets and financial monitoring and reporting.

WCRF UK Departments

Fundraising

WCRF UK’s fundraising Department programmes include extensive direct mail, individual giving, community fundraising, events and campaigns, trusts and legacies. WCRF UK is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board and adheres to the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Practice.

Supporter Services

WCRF UK’s Supporter Services Department is vital in dealing with the back-end of our Fundraising programmes. The department also supports our Health Information, Communications and Science and Research departments.

Communications

The WCRF UK’s Communications department is responsible for raising WCRF's profile across the country through press relations, online and social media work.  The team was awarded the prestigious Best Healthcare Campaign of the Year 2008 by The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) for the media campaign around the launch of our Second Expert Report. WCRF's work is regularly featured in leading regional, national and international news media.

Health Information

The WCRF UK Health Information Department translates scientific evidence on food and lifestyle into positive, motivating and practical messages for reducing the risk of cancer and communicates these messages through various channels to our supporters, the general public, health professionals, children and other specific audiences.
