The World Cancer Research Fund International Regular Grant Programme is now open.

Each year, our Regular Grant Programme accepts applications for research studies exploring the link between diet, nutrition, body composition, physical activity and cancer prevention and survival.
These research areas may be approached by either identifying the mechanisms that underpin the effects of diet, nutrition and physical activity on cancer, or by addressing the risk factors that influence individual susceptibility to cancer development, progression and survival, contributing to the evidence on variability between people in outcomes. Addressing the identification of likely causal links between diet, nutrition and physical activity after cancer diagnosis also applies for the cancer survivors research area.
Regular Grant Programme applications – for new proposals for investigator initiated grants and seed grants – are accepted from principal investigators based at research institutions from any country outside the Americas (with co-applicants or collaborators from anywhere in the world). We continue to encourage international collaborations and research from low- and middle-income countries, with the aim of strengthening capacity from under-represented regions.
Applications from the Americas should be submitted to our network charity, the American Institute for Cancer Research, which has a separate research grant programme.
We have included more flexibility to our eligibility criteria for projects proposing work using cell lines or animal models and to the eligibility criteria of the study design. Our former pilot grants have been redefined, becoming now seed grants, accepting pilot and feasibility studies. However, there are no major changes from last year.
The budgets for proposals are currently £350,000 for investigator initiated grants for up to four years and £60,000 for seed grants over two years.
