Why we’re celebrating our women in science

The 11th February marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and at World Cancer Research Fund we want to take this opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our incredible female scientists and encourage more women to follow in their footsteps.

Globally, not enough women and girls are given the opportunities to pursue a career in science and research – this needs to change.

To provide some inspiration and highlight the female researchers that we fund, throughout February we will be profiling some of the many women in science that World Cancer Research Fund supports.

Look out for our blog series, where we will be highlighting our scientists' projects, their aims and what inspired them to work in the field of cancer prevention and survival. We will also be posting video interviews with our scientists on our Twitter and Facebook channels, so be sure to follow us and stay tuned.
