Cancer Prevention Action Week 2026: Science Not Fiction

This year, Cancer Prevention Action Week (CPAW) runs from 14-21 June and focuses on empowering people to look beyond the headlines and trust what the evidence really says – to choose science, not fiction.

Health information sourced online can be helpful, but it doesn’t always reflect the full scientific picture:

  • Misleading or incomplete information about cancer prevention is widespread
  • This can make it harder for people to make informed decisions about their health
  • Evidence-based guidance remains the most reliable way to reduce cancer risk

Many consumers rely on health information they find online, but this can often be misleading, incomplete and in some circumstances, even harmful. At World Cancer Research Fund we want people to be able to make informed decisions about their health. Evidence-based guidance remains the most reliable way to reduce cancer risk. Organisations play a key role in reinforcing this advice and building confidence in trusted sources.

By working with us, you can ensure that all of our families, friends, colleagues, suppliers and customers have access to the most up-to-date and scientifically robust information, and have the confidence to question what they see and hear.

Partnering with us will help to keep people safe from the harm of misinformation because when it comes to cancer prevention, evidence saves lives.

Strategic partnerships

We work with companies to build mutually beneficial partnerships that have a shared purpose at their core. Collaborate with us to achieve your ambition and help make a sustainable impact on cancer. We would love to work with you to define your strategic fundraising goal and then create a tailored programme of fundraising activities that will bring your employees together around an important cause. This could include increasing the public’s awareness of their risk of developing cancer or working together to tackle the inequalities that face certain population groups affected by cancer.

Some of the ways we currently support people include:

  • providing support to thousands of people living with cancer through our dedicated Cancer and Nutrition Helpline
  • cancer and lifestyle education which helps people – young and old – to reduce their cancer risk
  • better outcomes for cancer patients with our groundbreaking research
  • helping healthcare professionals deliver better care.

Employee fundraising

There are so many ways for employees to fundraise for WCRF. We can provide you with several ideas and options – from hosting a Fruity Friday to getting a team together to take part in an Ultra Challenge.

Health and wellbeing packages

Boost employee engagement and team morale with bespoke fundraising events, volunteering opportunities, workplace visits and more. We can support your employees to adopt healthier lifestyles through our free cancer prevention programmes:

  • Cancer Health Check
  • Activ8
  • Webinars
  • Exclusive invites to events

We can also provide a variety of health information for your staff and workplace.

Commercial opportunities

Support our work by donating a percentage of your profits from a particular product or range of products.

Sponsorship

Extend the reach of your brand or company by sponsoring one of our events, campaigns, resources or services. We can work with you to identify the right opportunity and shape a sponsorship package to suit your business.

Potential sponsorship opportunities include our Events and challenges, Health Information resources and our annual campaign, Cancer Prevention Action Week (CPAW).

Payroll giving

Payroll giving lets employees donate from their gross salary (before tax is deducted), giving tax relief on those donations. It’s also possible to donate like this through a pension.
