How do you have behaviour change conversations that are supportive, person-centred and realistic?

As health professionals working with the public, you will know that giving people advice doesn’t always mean they are ready, or able, to act on it. So how can we have behaviour change conversations that are supportive, person-centred and realistic?

What you’ll learn

By joining this webinar, you will learn:

  • Why behaviour change is important in supporting cancer prevention
  • Key evidence-based behaviour change principles
  • How to identify barriers and motivators that can influence a person’s readiness and ability to change
  • Person-centred approaches to support real world conversations

What we will explore

  • How to move beyond simply giving advice to having conversations that help people feel heard
  • Helping to build trust and encouraging individuals to take practical steps towards healthier choices that support cancer prevention
  • Practical approaches to start sensitive conversations
  • Understanding what matters to the individual and balancing evidence-based information with people’s autonomy

Who should attend

This webinar is ideal for anyone working in primary care, public health, dietetics, nutrition or community health. Whether your role involves brief interventions or lifestyle conversations, this session will equip you with actionable insights to support cancer prevention through diet.
